It is proof of a legacy built through one hundred years of industrial evolution, continuously adapting to change while embracing innovation.
Our story began in 1926, when SAE (Società Anonima Elettrificazione) started the electrification works on the double-track railway line connecting Bolzano and Brenner. Over the decades, acquisitions, mergers, and integration into major industrial groups in the energy sector, including ABB and Alpiq, as well as in transport and infrastructure, including Balfour Beatty and Colas Rail, have marked the key milestones of a remarkable journey. This journey reached a new chapter in 2024, when our Italian company became part of GCF – Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie.
Throughout this evolution, our core business and specialist expertise in electric traction systems have remained the defining elements of our identity. At the same time, we have continuously expanded and strengthened our capabilities, combining a strong heritage with an enduring commitment to innovation.
