As a member of the Saturno Consortium, GCFE was awarded the contract for the construction of the technological installations of the Brescia – Verona high-speed section, the second functional lot of the Milan – Verona HS/HC line, an integral part of the Mediterranean TEN-Corridor linking the Iberian Peninsula to the Ukrainian border, crossing Italy from West to East.

The new line is powered at 3kV DC, with a design speed of 250km/h, for a total development of 45 km, 16 km of which in tunnels. The railway line crosses 2 regions, 3 provinces, 11 municipalities and runs mostly alongside existing infrastructure in the area (highway and railway line).

As part of the Consortium, GCFE is the leader in the design, supply and construction of the 3 kV DC Overhead Contact Line, 132 kV High Voltage Power Lines and Remote Control System on the entire line.

Additionally the company’s scope of work also encompasses design and construction of Substations and Low Voltage Power Supply.
